Franklin Herbert "Frank" Hodgkins was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on 2 November 1927 and was appointed to West Point from the 13th Congressional District. His West Point classmates recall: "Frank, man of many moods, has added much to our gatherings with his sparkling wit and has still retained the seriousness which will help him in his military career. From his outstanding activity in the choir and glee club, you can see that he is a man of no mean vocal talent. No matter what Frank endeavors, we know that his sincerity and versatility will add up to nothing but success." During his cadet days Frank was on the Hop Committee, the Cadet Choir, and the Glee Club all four years; went out for Soccer and was on the Ring Committee plebe year; was on the Policy Committee cow and first class years; and was a Cadet Lieutenant his first class year serving as Battalion Supply Officer. Upon graduation Frank went in the Air Force and after flying training reported to Armed Forces Special Weapons Project, Sandia Base, NM where he served until 1955 when he resigned his First Lieutenant's commission from the United States Air Force. In 1969 Frank was appointed General Sales Manager with Gilbert Associates and in 1974 was promoted to Assistant to the President a position he held until 1979. The November 1997 Assembly notes; "Frank Hodgkins continues to make money on the stock market and is active in church work. Mary Kate's long term illness caused loss of mobility."
After Frank reviewed this profile he requested that I add, "My favorite people are Santa Claus and Mickey Mouse."
He also added, "All men die but few have lived a full life like mine."
