Eric was in my Beast platoon. He truly was a great guy, the kind of person who made others' lives at West Point better just for being around him. My prayers and sympathies go out to his family. As great a loss as this is for the Army and for the Class of 97, I know that this is tremendous burden on Eric's family and a tragic loss. It was an honor to know Eric and serve with him.
