Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jake Laughlin on September 7, 2007:

Although I didn't know Shannon that well, I had a few classes with her and we certainly knew each other in passing. The one thing about her that sticks out in my mind was that she always had a smile on her face. And it was a big, cheerful smile, at that. She seemed to always be in such a great mood...pretty hard to do given how much most of us let USMA get the best of us.

I also remember her role in our 100th night production. When she came out in that red wig, especially given the circumstances and who she was supposed to be, I think I laughed harder than I had in the four years at the Academy. To this day, I wish we'd captured that show on film, as that particular moment was one of the funniest memories I have from my time at USMA.

My heart goes out to Shannon's family. She was one of a kind, and I know she will always be missed.
