Matt was my roommate Firstie year. I will never forget his humor and the way he and Eric Bjorkland played off of each other. When I received the call on Wednesday that Matt had been killed, it hit me hard. I have known other soldiers that have been killed in this war, but now it has hit closer to home than ever before. Matt was supposed to be in my wedding, the week after graduation, but travel problems kept him away. I had not heard from Matt and Maureen since graduation, but I thought of both of them every now and then. From what I have read, Matt was well respected by his soldiers and was a great officer. These reports do not surprise me because Matt was kind, practical and well liked as both a classmate and friend. Matt, you will be missed. "Well Done, Be thou at Peace" Scott Edwards A-3, '97 |
