I was fortunate to have been in the same company as Matt during our final two years. He was probably the most liked by all person in our company, with his easy-going manner and constant smile. I can't remember him speaking an unkind word about anyone. If as a commander he was anything like he was as a cadet, I'm sure he had the best combination of competence, humor, and compassion.
