Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Erin Reardon on February 23, 2004:

It has been a couple of months since we lost Todd. I always try to find the right words to help my sister through this tragedy. I never seem to say the magic words to make her pain go away. Todd was just not her husband, he was her best friend, he was her family, he was the person who she was supposed to be with for the rest of her life. I hate that my sister is 23 and her life feels like it is over. Todd was everything to my sister. He was there for her since the day that they met. He showed her all the love and respect that a man knew how to show. I just keep thinking about their wedding day and how beautiful my sister looked for Todd. There were months of planning, and sleepless nights over perfect flowers and perfect dresses. The day was just as it was planned...perfect in every way. The way that Jenifer and Todd kept looking at each other stays in my heart as the way that I will last remember Todd. I wish I can find just one ounce of love in this lifetime that they shared on that special day. I know that Jenifer and Todd will be together again someday. I don't know the answers why god felt he needed him now, but i know that he will be sadly missed by so many people. My sister loved Todd with every inch of her heart but i know that she will go on and recover from this. She will take her memories of him, and their special times toegther and put them in her heart to cherish for her long road ahead in this life. She is a very strong person, and I look up to her everyday for everything she has accomplished and gone through. I am sure that Todd is so proud of her right now. I was not able to get very close to Todd, but I know that I was looking forward to having him in my family.

I miss you Todd, and I hope you can help me find the words to comfort your Jen...

I will try to take care of her as best as I know how...

Love, Erin
