| I served with Gordon during the Cold War in Germany back in 1960-61. At that time he was the Tank Troop Commander in the 1st Recon Squadron 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment. Competition was very tough for command positions during this time period, however, Gordon was selected as a First Lt and served with distinction. I was glad to have known him and he will be long remembered. His example was a great credit to the US Army and the United States Military Academy. |
