Be Thou At Peace
Posted by melvyn tishler on December 13, 2007:
Francis and I were friends throughout high school in Bridgeport, Ct. We were opposites who seemed to just get along always. He was the quiet student who always got the honors that eluded me.Yet, he was always quick to compliment me on any athletic accomplishment I might enjoy, of which there were not many.He was not a braggart and it was years later that I discovered he had actually followed his dream of being a cadet. We parted company at our graduation and swore to continue corresponding. As was the case, it never happened. I went South to school and marriage and left much of those days behind me. Often I think of this unnassuming young man walking down the hall of Central High School giving me some inside information on what to study for a test. His opinion was usually right.I never really was able to find any information on Francis until recently. I write this because I do not want his eulogy page to be empty. He was more important to my life than he realized. I see that now in decisions I have made. Fare well.
