Dear Matt, Rest in Peace with His Grace and Security. My friend Paul Marks (USMA 86), a professor at school, wrote me with your wife's, remarks. When asked why she needs to return to Iraq, especially since she has sacrificed so much already, she said simply, "I promised my soldiers I would get them home." I cried that night. It was the most heroic and touching thing I have heard in years. I will not forget it. I can only imagine that a fellow Rhode Islander who made a choice like that in a wife made similar excellent choices in battle. I thank you for your service to our country, and may God protect you.
