Be Thou At Peace
Posted by R.B. Cabell, CW5 (USA RET) on March 9, 2004:
My Father, "Bud" Cabell was a lifelong beacon for his family. A finer gentleman dedicated to Duty, Honor and Country you could not find. His high regard for his classmates and his Alma Mater were fondly recalled often. A dedicated career officer, Bud gave his all to the Army and never regretted a moment of service. His devotion to family was unparalelled as he was mentored by two generations of USMA grads before him. I can proudly say that Bud and Ginia were very much in love to the end. His family raised and gone, Bud was very devoted to Ginia's Alzheimer's onset. And although they weathered the loss of a child in 1958 they stood tall and could always be counted on to be the best of loving parents and friends. Their remains are interred together in the cemetary of the same church in which they were married just four days after graduation. We shall miss their warm smiles, kind words and gentle manner. The world is a better place because of them.
