Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Norman Pimentel on February 20, 2008:

I have pondered on what to write, and how to describe the sense of loss. This is not easy, and I guess it never will be.

In essence, Ted was that individual we all aspired to become. Confident, intelligent; a man with a deeply engrained sense of honor and purpose. I realize that three or so years have passed since Ted's death, and for some strange reason I still keep a photograph in my e-files where Ted - in combat gear-is standing next to an Iraqi boy. A photograph published in the Web shortly after his death. "Leading by example"- I still think.

This photo portrays the Ted I remember. A true believer in getting the job done, a true believer in a greater good, a true believer in our ability to live with honor, dignity, unyielding values, and determination. Ted was-and will continue to be- a an example to us all. God bless his soul and those of so many other service men, women, and their courageous families.
