Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Karin Windorski on March 26, 2008:
It will be five years tomorrow since Pete left us. He is still such a big part of our lives. No length of time goes by that he isn't mentioned in our home. In fact we just lost my father-in-law to cancer last month and my 8 year old son (who adored "Mr. Pete" when we lived next door to him and Colleen) said "Grandpa is in heaven with Mr. Pete and they are hanging out and waiting for us".
Although Pete has been gone for more than half of my son's life and the last time they saw each other was the summer of 2003, my son has never forgotten him. That is the kind of impression Pete made on those who met and knew him. He was an unforgettable man and we are all better for having had him in our lives.
Colleen, Mary and Ron -- our thoughts and prayers are with you always, especially on every March 27th, as we pause and remember Pete and what he meant to us. May God bless and keep you.
