Be Thou At Peace

Posted by David G. Graham on April 3, 2008:

I knew Dave from our days in college so long ago. As Tom Freeman said, Dave was a very cool-headed, introspective and highly intelligent friend. In many ways, he was more mature than the rest of us "college kids." He was a hard worker, and a dependable friend no matter what the challenge.

Dave was a good man, and an outstanding Army officer. Under that cool and collected outward demeanor was a strong leader, with a rich sense of humor. I last saw him when we served at Ft, Knox, KY in the early-mid 1980s. He had recently experienced a personal tragedy, and we would sit and talk almost every evening for hours. Sometimes we just sat quietly... also for hours. Jennifer and Shawn were little tykes at the time. Dave loved them dearly!

It is with great sadness that I learned of his 2005 homegoing. I humbly salute his memory, and extend belated, yet sincere, condolences to his wife Debra and family near and far. His spirit remains alive in those of us who knew him. May he rest in peace. God bless you all.

Very Respectfully,
-David G. Graham
