Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Catherine, Carolyn, Dan, and Patrick on April 15, 2008:

Our funny, loving, sometimes grumpy, delightful father passed away in his sleep Saturday morning, April 12th. His great big heart simply stopped beating.
He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
Dad never failed to show his love. As he got older he grew more affectionate rarely ending a conversation with out the, "love you kid".
He loved to poke fun at some of his more liberal children. He would say, "Come on, sit down and listen to Rush (Limbaugh) with me."
Dad would give the shirt off his back to friend or stranger. If one of us "kids" needed anything, he was there.
The gift he has given us is the example of the love he shared with our mother, Maureen. They celebrated fifty years of marraige last summer. It breaks our hearts to see our mother in such grief over the loss of her Dan; her sweetheart since they were 15 years old.
Goodbye, Dad. Save us a place. (Only no Rush L.)
