Be Thou At Peace

Posted by LTC Daniel Marvin, USA (ret'd) on May 16, 2008:

I met Colonel Tuttle in Can Tho, South Vietnam on Christmas Day of 1965. He commanded US Army Special Forces Team C-4 in the Delta Region of South Vietnam. We ate Christmas breakfast alone together and he then took me to his office where he asked me to volunteer to command the first Independent Special Forces Operation in An Phu District - the first to take the war into the enemy safe-havens. My time in An Phu and Colonel Tuttle's part in it is well covered and pictured in my book "Victory Edition - EXPENDABLE ELITE, One Soldier's Journey Into Covert Warfare" and was an experienced leader in the Special Forces' community.
