| Tonight is high school graduation in Wheeler, Texas, and the 1st Lt Ben Britt Memorial Scholarship will be presented to 5 seniors. These seniors were chosen by a committee of people who love you and remember what you believed in. First of all service. You believed so much in service that you gave your life in service to your country. These seniors were to reflect qualities that you valued in you life like humility, kindness, perseverance, integrity, and most of all service in some way. These seniors would have been in the second grade when you graduated from Wheeler High School. But you know what-- they remember you and what you stood for. What a legacy you have left. I have the honor and privilege to present these scholarships tonight. |
