I did not get to know John while we were cadets but spent several great weekends with him during the golfing grads outings in Florida. I was struck with his kindness and his unusual wit. He was just an enjoyable guy to visit with and he seemed to have accumulated quite a storehouse of wisdom over the years. He was an easy friend and openly shared his joys and his sorrows.
