Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Alexis Marks on April 16, 2004:
Erin, thank you for being a part of all our lives. Like Ryan, I remember you most from the dreaded CS project. You were always there, even on the days when we were stumped and you showed up with Shades pizza and Mountain Dew. You could always just make us smile, yet you were also the one who was the peacemaker. I remember the day the two of us went down to the Good Doc's office in Thayer for a IPR (let see, Ryan made up a lame excuse, Lucaz was deported, and Julie was ...?). The old Doc mentioned how he was wrong when he told us we could code it in one language, and that we needed to use Java. As he pointed out that it would be a great learning experience to learn it in the 3 weeks we had left to finish our course long project, I started to crack my knuckles as I mentally pictured myself choking him till he started one of his epileptic seizures. At that point, you kicked me in the leg. When I didn't respond, you stomped my foot so hard that I decided it wasn't worth it to kill the old man. So, whether you knew it or not, you saved that man's life and probably saved me from being bicenntennial club. I remember you as CdtTutone, IMing me late at night to tell me to give the project a break and get some sleep or to just sent a funny quotation. It's funny how as cadets we would talk on IM rather than walk a minute down the hall. I guess we all take those moments for granted. Erin, my prayers are with you and your family. All I can say is, the world is less without you.
