Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Steve Ferry on August 28, 2008:
As a kid, and while growing up, I was always very proud of you. And I am still very proud of you. My brother, sister, and I were always very happy whenever we learned that you and our cousins were coming to visit us in Shippensburg PA. I still remember when you and the family came back from France. That was a great visit. I was saddened in 1966 when I learned of your passing. I was in California in the Navy at the time. I was and am just as proud of Bernard Ambrose Ferry Jr. USMA '64. I remember so well when our family attended his wedding at USMA West Point. I have never been to any event like that before or since. I was very saddened to learn of cousin Bernie's passing this past year. How special it is that you and your eldest son were both graduates of USMA West Point. I still have a pair of old cuff links with the USMA West Point emblem on them. You gave them to dad, and he gave them to me. Your Uncle Thomas "Paul" Dun served in WW1, Your second son John served in the Navy, as did my brother and I. In all, 5 of us served to keep America free. Thank you for being a great roll model. Thank you for being you. All my love and respect. Your Nephew, Stephen Alexander Ferry.
May eternal rest be granted unto you. May your soul, and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
