John Henry Strealdorf
Born November 1, 1929 - Died November 10, 2009
John Henry "The Monk" Strealdorf was born in New York on 1 November 1929 and was appointed to West Point as a Qualified Alternate.
His West Point classmates recall: "The Spartan life had its ups and downs. Just ask `The Monk' who spent his first three years in this Order on the fifth floor of the New North Monastery. The only way he can come closer to Heaven for a long while is to realize his ambition of having his pulpit behind the controls of the Air Force's latest jet job. Look for a plane named 'Pax Vobiscum' and you'll find a guy named John."
During his cadet days John went out for Football plebe and yearling years; for Lacrosse plebe year; Soccer cow and first class years; and was a Cadet Sergeant his first class year.
Upon graduation John was unfortunately found physically disabled and was not commissioned in the military service of his choice; the Air Force.
In 1983 John was doing consulting work in Engineering.
John and his wife Doris made their home in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina.
