Jeff and family, I am truly saddened to my core to hear the tragic news. Just this week I took a trip down memory lane and my thoughts brought me to one of those cold winter nights at an Ike lecture that Jeff brought life to. There are very few cadets who are known by all his classmates. Jeff was known to the entire corps of cadets, faculty and staff. I can only remember the name of one First Captain over our 4 years there, but all remember Jeff. Jeff, you brought a spark to a sometimes dreary cadet life. When I was reflecting this week about you, I was actually reflecting on your passion and enthusiasm. You showed us how to embrace cadet life by example. (as it should be) I know you are missed by many who learned to appreciate your passion and devotion. I pray for your family in these difficult times and salute you for your faithful service. In my heart I believe you have already had a few moments with Gen. Scott in the hereafter. Always seeking to understand the challenges that lie ahead. The world is a sadder place without you. Until we meet again. |
