Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Monty Patterson on March 28, 2009:
I am writing this from Camp Slayer, Iraq which is close proximity to where Ted's life camme to such a tragic end. I found out about Ted's death two days ago through a colleague who had served with us in Italy during the mid 80s. Needless to say I was shocked to hear that such a fine upstanding man had left us well before his time. Even though 20 years have passed since we last saw one another I am saddened to hear about Ted's passing and can vividly recall our time together in Italy. I was one of Ted's squad leaders, friend and mentor during his formative years as a Platoon Leader. His zest for learning was incredible and he soaked up NCO knowledge like a sponge. Ted used this time tested knowledge along with his academia intellect to become one of the finest young officers I ever had the privilige of working with. From the online research I have done over the past several days Ted continued to excel and set the example for others to emulate.
God bless Ted and his family.
