| I still tear up when I think of Monty. We got to know each other in Beast, and continued as friends, seeing each other through the time he was in Norman. I left Hood and went to Germany after that, and was just returning when the tragic news got to us. I cried. Every time I have gotten back to USMA, it hasn't been all that often, I go see Monty, just to do my own brand of reminiscing. A good question for God someday will be, "Sir, Why did we have to lose him so soon?" The best of friends, and a great natural leader. I'd have voted for him as Governor of Missouri even though I wasn't from there! And voted often. |
