The present is a fine moving line that turns tomorrow into yesterday.It changes boys into men and men into brave defenders and leaders. What a privilege to have watched you, to have shared the successes and the struggles. The line moves, taking with it the memories of your voice on the answering machine, the backward tilt of your head when a good laugh erupts, you fork attacking a tall stack of pancakes at the Huddle House, and a deep regret that I did not come to Germany when you asked me to come along with your parents in 2003. The moving line, however, brings us closer together. See you. Always, Aunt Karon |
