I am writing this message on Memorial Day 2009 to let Kevin's family and loved ones know he is still remembered here in Baghdad. There are still a few of us who knew Kevin who remain working to restore the country. I am sure all others who knew him remember him wherever they may be this Memorial Day. We old-timers speak of him and his sacrifice often when we remember the difficult times past. His memory will always be with us, and he will be a model for the best of the best in our thoughts. December 05 and its dangers seems a long time ago in some ways. Iraq is finally moving on into peace; real, lasting peace we hope, built on the efforts and sacrifices of men like the LT. I mourn for his loss, but I see Iraq's progress, and I feel it was not all in vain. May God bless him and may his memory give us all inspiration. |
