Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Tiana Farrant on August 5, 2004:

No words can express my sincere regret for the loss of Zane. I knew him for three years and was privileged to be able to count him among my greatest friends. I had the honor of serving with Zane on the Fencing Team. The men?s team made terrific strides because of his exceptional performance and skill with a foil blade. He was a great mentor and coach to everyone around him. Whenever I was struggling academically, he would always offer to help in every way possible. Zane was such a selfless, caring person and he wanted nothing more than to help people. Zane had a rare sense of humor that most people lack. He could always turn something gloomy into something funny. There was never anything that could bring his positive outlook on life down and he shared it with everyone around him. I am comforted with knowing he was blessed with having found someone special to share his love with, and with the chance to experience fatherhood before being taken from us. In the last emails I have from him, he said that he never realized how happy he could be as a daddy. His heart was full. Fate, by chance, allowed me to see Zane just six weeks before his passing while at NBC school in Fort Dix. It was so good to see him and I had never seen him so happy and full of life.

Angela, their beautiful boy Bryant, his parents, brother, sister, and family are in my thoughts and prayers everyday. My the Lord help you all through this very difficult time.

Zane, Godspeed my dear friend and be thou at peace...
