Steve and I were fellow Infantry battalion commanders in the 2nd Brigade of the 9th Infantry Division at Fort Lewis 1986-1988. I was very pleasantly surprised, thankful, and thrilled when I found out that Steve was there and that we would be working together! I could not have been as successful as a battalion commander without his support & cooperation. That was a tough time for me in my life. WE worked together helping each other's battalion. It was a pleasure to have such a good and old friend as Steve during those stressful times. He was always giving and helping--Steve was the epitome of selfless service" not only as a fellow professional soldier but also as simply a GREAT person! STEVE---May the Peace of our LORD be with you! v/r JON |
