Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Joachim Hagopian on October 24, 2009:
Gary, you were among my true friends at West Point. As a fellow Gopher-1 roommate, we always had a laugh, at life, at ourselves, it didn't much matter. The important thing was the comeraderie and humor that bolstered our kindred spirits through the many ups and downs of cadet life. You were my brother on the playing field, and a star linebacker at that. I always enjoyed our time together those many years ago. Then about a decade ago when the computer age rapidly came upon us, you were among the first comrades from our ancient past that I reached out to. And you were there for me. You had just gone through the ordeal of your life with the head tumor, and you shared how proud you were to have a son following in your gridiron glory. The computer science professor of Regis College was on the comeback trail. I regret not keeping up our correspondence, but I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to rekindle our friendship, but mostly Gary, I'm grateful to have known you and called you my true friend. Be Thou At Peace Fallen Warrior....
