Be Thou At Peace

| When I was a Colonel in Heidelberg, Doug worked for me as a brand new Captain. He was brilliant, hard working and fun to be around. His potential was obvious. I'm pretty sure that if not for my 18 year head start, Doug would have probably ended up as my boss at some point. It was also obvious that he loved his family and his Soldiers very much. If there is one consolation in his tragic death, it is that although his family couldn't be with him in his final moments, he was still among loved ones. God speed Doug - you will be missed. |
