Be Thou At Peace

Jeff always represented to me what was best and most noble about West Point, the Army and America. He was ever the courteous and consummate gentleman as well as the model of professionalism. These qualities followed him throughout his life and I can recall numerous other occasions in Hawaii, at Ft. Bragg, and in Iraq when Jeff was there to encourage me and to uplift me both personally and professionally. Even during the conversations we had while he was struggling with cancer, he was always insistent that our conversations turn to me and what I was doing rather than discussing his challenges. I shall always remember Jeff as an encouraging friend and as an inspirational role model. Be thou at peace, my friend. I'll see you again! Jim |
