Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Paul Joseph on April 1, 2010:
I was deeply saddened to learn the news of the passing of a friend, classmate and fellow Bostonian. I got to know Richard-Dick-Richie Flynn at West Point through a mutual friend and high school classmate of mine. I don't know exactly where or how but after we met, I had the opportunity on a couple of occasions to travel back to West Point with Dick and his Dad. Now that was a treat. His father would regale us with stories and keep me laughing from start to finish of our trips. And for that four hour drive from Boston to USMA in the cold of winter, you needed a good laugh.
Although we didn't see each other often over the ensuing years, each time we did meet Dick was always upbeat as we shared stories about our lives and families. Samrt & witty, he was a delight to be around.
To Jane and his family I want to express our deepest sympathy to you for your loss. You will be in our thoughts & prayers.
