Be Thou At Peace

Posted by James Malley, Lt Col of Infantry, US Army - Retired on April 27, 2010:

I had the honor and pleasure to serve with Col Dave Carter at the ROTC program at University of Rhode Island. Our tours overlapped in 1971 till Summer of 1973. He was a fine officer and a distinguished gentleman. He brought dignity and respect to what could otherwise have been a very frustrating assignment for us. And, he held our cadets to standards that gave them pride in their accomplishments and motivation leading to their future successes, in and out of the military. In that assignment, he made a significant contribution to the future well-being and successes of the United States Army.

"And when our work is done ...
Our course on earth is run ...
May it be said "Well Done!
Be thou at Peace!' "

Well done, Sir!
