Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Michael F. Cochrane on September 14, 2004:

I'm reminded of the words of our Alma Mater:

"Let Duty be well perfomed,
Honor be e'er untarned,
Country be ever armed,
West Point, by thee."

I did not know Bill well at the Academy, though we were in the same battalion. I do know that he would not have been in Iraq as a civilian contractor had he not believed in his heart that it was the right thing to do -- that it was his *Duty*. He had skills and talents that were needed, and at great personal risk and sacrifice he offered them to his Country and the Iraqi people. In his life and his death, Bill honored the Corps, and I am proud to be his Classmate.

Lord, receive this honorable man into Your Kingdom.
