| Charlie was like a big brother to me when we roomed together Yearling Year (together with Mike Casp)! He'd been recruited out of Texas to play football and had been around this life longer than I, who had just got out of high school in Chicago. I'll always be indebted to Charlie Brown for the guidance and advice he was never too busy to provide. Later, in 1963, we served together in the 5th Mech at Fort Carson, he as an engineer, I in the field artillery. Rest in peace, Charlie. I'll never forget you! |
