Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Keith Garner on June 28, 2010:

Bob was a good friend. We palled around during our cadet days (made easy since were in the same cadet company). He would tease me about my Texas accent and I would tease him about his Maine accent. During the years we were both still on active duty, we kept in touch fairly closely. Bobbie and our kids would stop by to visit Bob, Noni, and Debbie when they were in their vicinity. Later, we both attended the Field Artillery Career Course at the same time. He, Bill Bailey, and I were in the same section and would sit together when we could. Because the three of us were the same size and were nearly always together, our peers would tease us and one took a picture of us sitting at the same table in a classroom in the monkey pose "Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil". After our Army years we did not get a chance to visit in person, but kept in touch via Christmas cards.

I will miss Bob a lot!
