Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Warren L. Ezra on October 9, 2004:

It has been almost 24 years since Paul's passing. Paul and I attended St. Louis High School in Honolulu, Hawaii together. He was without question the best friend I had during my high school years. When my brother, a Regent on the Board of St. Louis High, called me at home in California to inform me of Paul's passing, I was of course in shock. I am still in disbelief 24 years later. Not a day went buy, even years after our High School days, that I didn't think about Paul and the positive effect he had on my life. He was a good man and a great friend. One can't help but wonder back to our body surfing days in Hawaii at Sandy Beach and the great friends we had. It is a time past, yet the memories live on like it was only yesterday. The school dances, dating girls from our "sister" schools, Jefferson Airplane concerts.. it all seems like yesterday. But it isn't; it is 35 years since we graduated from High School and 24 years since his leaving us. These are different times. Times that would be better with his presence. I will always miss Paul, even though we hadn't seen each other in years. I will always remember his voice and his laughter. I will never forget the positive effect he had on my life... but somehow I think he knows that. I have never forgotten.. nor will I ever forget my life long friend Paul Baldy.
