William J. Love
West Point, 1991
Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Amy on October 15, 2004:
Bill will always hold a place in the foremost of my heart. He had a way of touching people, in ways that made them realize all that they could be. I never had the privilege of serving with him after the Academy, but I have no doubt that all of his troops would echo that sentiment in Dolby Surround Sound.
I remember getting the call in Korea from my sister back in '93, saying she saw Bill's passing in the "Taps" portion of The Register. Although over ten years have played out in the interim, my retinas still hurt from the tears I shed. Bill Love was an amazing man, and I hope very fervently that he knows how much he was loved and appreciated in this life.
My condolences go out to his family and those who cared. It's been a decade, and more shall pass. But the lives he touched will always remember him. I know I will, long into the future. What a wonderful person, and what a good soul. I hope to see you again someday, Bill. I know you'd tease me for saying that, but down deep, you believed, too. You are missed more than you know.
