| I served under then Lt. Cary Mehlenbeck in the Scout Platoon of the 2/9th Infantry, 2nd Infantry Division, Republic of South Korea in 1976-1977. He was the Platoon Leader and I was one of his young sergeants. He was one of the finest officers I served with in the military and he held the respect of both his men and the officers he served with. His early death saddens me and I wish to express my sympathy to his family and friends. |
