Butch Ordway was the best looking cadet in our class. He always put others first throughout his life. He was an inspiration to me and he will never be forgotten. In baseball, he struck out Willie Mays and Hank Sauer. Quite an accomplishment because those two guys were top hitters. He coached our alumni '58 baseball team who challenged Army's varsity team. Before Army knew it, in the first inning, we were up 1-0. Ordway got a solid base hit which brought me home from third base. But I have to let you know, this was a real man, devoted to his wife and friends. As I stated earlier,"never forgotten". |
