Be Thou At Peace

I probably haven't seen Chris in 30 years, but I will always remember the short time we spent together as roommates at the Armor Officer Basic Course at Ft. Knox. We shared a "double-wide" in West Point, Kentucky of all places, along with a talking minah bird. 'Course he only knew a couple of "foul" words, but we loved him. I couldn't have invented a better guy to spend those weeks with than Chris. The "O" Club on post was our home away from home, but he also convinced me I really needed to race my Datsun 240Z at the local drag strip. Fun times. His was an always positive personality that never failed to keep me just slightly off the straight and narrow, not that I needed a lot of help! Rest easy friend. You'll be in my thoughts. |
