Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Marshall Best, Co. H-4 on December 10, 2010:
Oscar & I were selected in 1976 to return to USMA to participate in the Project Outreach Program. We along with three other former cadets worked in the Admissions Office; the goal--To Bring attnetion to the West Point story and opportunity to apply for admission to USMA in several areas of the United states. Oscar and I were afforded the opportunity to go to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. We had a great time while completing our assignment. Oscar, along with our Military Escorts, showed me around the enchanted Island. Oscar was very proud of his family, his heritage, his Military Branch of Service,Armor and West Point. Oscar was always smiling and laughing and he loved a good joke.
I came to know Oscar fairly well during our 6 month tour at USMA on this project and during our visit to Puerto Rico. You will be missed my friend by those whose lives you touched while you were on this Earth. May God Bless your loved ones who remember you in their hearts.
Su Amigo,
Marshall L. Best, H-4 USMA 1974
