I was a young Captain, fresh from a tour in Vietnam, when I was assigned as an instructor at the Ranger Training Command at Fort Benning. Sonny was a Major on staff at the Infantry School and was my neighbor in off-post housing. I was immediately impressed with his sharp wit and sense of humor. Sonny and his wife extended their hospitality frequently. I will be forever grateful to him for his guidance in military issues and for his friendship. Be Thou at Peace! |
