| Robert (Bob) Eckert WP 45, son of Jack (Col WWI, WWII, Korea) and Louise E. brother of John Keeler Eckert WP Jan 43 KIA - Bob served in Okinawa where he met and married Jean Zumstein of Australia,, 1947, father of Bunky Eckert . Killed in mid air collision of three fighter planes in 1951. He was being considered for the first astronaut team - eulogized in the narrative entitled "The New Normal-Peace" which occurred after WWI, WWII, Korea, Cuban Missile Crisis, Vietnam, hopefully soon Iraq and Afghanistan - a narrative of one military family of five generations Perserving our Freedom 1917-2010.
