Be Thou At Peace

Posted by CW3 Brent South on November 7, 2004:

For the Family and friends of CPT Johnson,
As my Company Commander and someone who I interacted with on a daily basis, it is a true loss I still can't comprehend. As a new leader, he showed great enthusiasm and careful listening. Especially to us Warrant Officers. Though I had several conversations with him, some not as good as others he always had the time to take me to the side and let me vent. Though sometimes never offering an answer always lending an ear. Though I didn't know him well in his personal life outside the military, we were all a family and grew to know each other like brothers here in Iraq. It is hard to express the loss of a friend and true hero for doing his part, I will always remember him. He WILL have a legacy, although small in this world we are making something special for him to be remembered by all "New" pilots showing up the sacrifices he and many other great Americans have given the ultimate sacrifice for all of our freedoms. We WILL continue this mission, until completion and know that he would have had no other way.
