Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jim and Pauline O'Connell on April 19, 2011:

Pat,

Pauline and I extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family for your great loss at the sudden death of Paul on 17 April. It was a great shock to us and you will be constantly in our prayers at this difficult time.

Paul and I were friends as Cadets, often in the same section in academics and sharing lots of common friends. We served together in Vietnam in the 101st in '69-70 and subsequently in Chief of Staff's office in the Pentagon. Time with Paul was always quality time.

Following Paul's retirement from the Army, we worked together on several important ARmy training initiatives at Lockheed Martin. My company supported many of his initiatives during his tenure as the President of Regent University. His life, his career and the variety of his accomplishments are a great testimony to him.

No member of our class demonstated a higher commitment to "Duty, Honor, Country" than Paul. Well done, my friend. Be Thou at Peace.

Jim O'Connell
