Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Alan Kordzikowski on May 14, 2011:

As I write this I continue to feel apprehensive about it, because Im not sure its my place to do so. I only want to pay my respects, even though we never met and I was only ten years old when you graduated West Point.
I grew up in a military family and West Point was very special to my family. I am not going to go into the details of it all, but West Point was a special place and I can remember being at West Point during the bicentennial. Heck, I recall being at West Point a lot during the years you were there as a cadet. All those memories came flooding back as I read the book "In a Time of war", which I bought and read for the first time a year ago. Since then I often go back and re-read it. I had been a cadet candidate for the military academy until a few months ago, a life long dream of mine, now a distant memory. I often wish it had worked out for me. Now, I will be doing ROTC in the college I will be attending this fall. Im not here to talk about myself, just from what I read, you seem like a great man. You will be missed, and if this web page shows it. Thank you for what youve given up for our country. God Bless.

Respectfully,
Alan Kordzikowski
