Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jim Rodgers on November 16, 2004:

Eric was a proud member of the 3d Brigade 4th Infantry Division and it was my honor and privelege to work with him. I was a contractor who worked with the Plans Cell in that Brigade and through our train-up both at Fort Hood and Fort Carson and also at the National Training Center, Eric was a larger than life figure. I too deployed to IRAQ with the Division and I can still remember seeing Eric and his fellow planners in the 3D Brigade TOC at Camp New Jersey, Kuwait prior to our "crossing the berm" into IRAQ. I lost some of my planners in this conflict or "my boys" as I called them and their loss is felt by many. Eric was one of them. He was always happy and above all respectful to an "old grad" like me. He and his buddies were a great team to work with and I know the Army and our country has lost a great leader with Eric's passing. To Eric and all my boys I say "well done be though at peace." You have earned your place in eternity and have upheld the values of "Duty, Honor and Country." God Bless you and your family.
