Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Paulette Boelee on November 16, 2004:
Eric,
The day I met you was one of a new life together for John & Robin, and new friendship with you. Who would of thought that it would be one of the most incredible 31/2 years of my life. You have embraced my family with such love, kindness, sincerity and compassion like I have never known. You had developed relationships that were unique and personal with everyone of us. I can't tell you how sad I am, there are no words. I will be forever grateful to John Njock, and John & Robin for bringing you into my life. I leave you with this very special poem.
Forever Friend
My friend, many times have I spoken to you in this last year and once again I would speak to you of something my heart would have you know and remember for the rest of your life, in this world where men grow so tired and lonely. I would tell you that in this world of ours, we meet many people with whom our pathways cross. We receive from them that which is good, and we give to them that which is good in us. But people, good and bad alike, come and they go.
If we are lucky, as you and I have been upon our pathway of life, we hap to meet one who is destined to be a "forever friend." I have been so fortunate.....I met you. You know me so well, even as I know you. When my heart doth cry out for the "at homeness" friend, the friend who feels my heartbeat, the friend who has seen me plod slowly, who has seen me riding high on the ferris wheel of life, who has laughed with me, cried with me, who listens to me hearing that which is good and casting away that which is bad, when my heart doth ache for the "old shoe" comfort, refreshing as the spring rain, then my heart doth ache for my "forever friend."
And though you be as near as my back door, or as far away as the four corners of the world, I know that you are only one heartbeat away. I would that you should know that in my heart, you doth dwell, in a spot set apart for you alone, as my "forever friend".....there now, always, and forevermore.
I love you Aunt Paulette ( Your Mexican Princess )
