| Chuck Profilet was one our Beast Barracks squad members. I remember him as a cheerful, intelligent and hard-working, always striving to do what was best. One of the most descriptive memories I have of him was that he was from the "Deep South", as we knew it in those days. In spite of that, he once remarked to me that a black First Classman in his company was one of the finest leaders that he had ever known. This was from a Plebe, raised in the segregated South. |
