| I found out about this tragedy two days ago while reminiscing with some friends. I felt so ashamed that I fell out of touch with Ricky over the years. I always hoped we could rekindle our friendship in adulthood. I met him in fifth grade and we stayed close friends until he and his family moved at the end of our eighth grade year. Ricky always met the day with a smile and a book in his hand. But what I remember most was his generosity and willingness to help others. He was the first to help me with my homework and would never let me give up on myself. I was always proud to call Ricky Joyce my friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. |
